CMS Read-A-Thon for Ukraine

Starting this week, CMS students will have the option to participate in a Read-A-Thon, as a fundraiser for KidSave, a non-profit in Ukraine that makes 1200 mile trips to safely evacuate refugees. They also provide children in Ukraine and refugees with medical aid, food, and clothing. As of 4/5/22, they have evacuated almost 9,000 children and families.

How will this work?

Students will be provided in TA with a paper Pledge Sheet/Reading Log to help collect pledges and track their reading progress. Students can collect pledges for a certain amount of money per every (book/page/minute) they read. Students can then track their reading and fill out the paper form or use their school reading log. At the end of the reading period on May 22, students will count up all the money they’ve raised and contact their sponsors to donate to KidSave via this GoFundMe link. That’s it! Thank you for helping to safely evacuate children and families from Ukraine! Contact our librarian Ms. Sofferman with questions.
